What a week at Carsington Waterside! 🌊🚲🔨👨‍💻💡

There’s been so much progress on site this week and it’s been fantastic to welcome Steve and Tim as they get started bringing everything together behind the scenes.

We can’t wait to meet the rest of our new team very soon and start building something really special here at Carsington Water.

A huge thank you to our builders too, who have really pushed on this week — the transformation is well underway and every day we’re getting a step closer to opening.

Lots more updates coming soon… we can’t wait to welcome you! ✨

Carsington Waterside is not yet open.

We can’t wait to welcome you but until then please follow the safety guidelines laid out by Severn Trent Water for the Carsington Water site.

We look forward to welcoming you safely, later this Summer ☀️

☀️ Amber weather warning for heat 😎

The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning which covers Carsington for tomorrow and Thursday.
Please stay safe and hydrated when visiting us in hotter weather;

🌳Our paths are fairly open with some areas of dappled shade.
💧 We have a water fountain in the courtyard for you to refill your water bottle.
🔥 Please bring a picnic as we don't allow BBQs or fires anywhere on site.
🚫 Please do not enter the water to swim or paddle, this includes dogs.

Have a lovely visit - don't forget your sunscreen and hat!!

Things are coming along nicely with the building works, they are smashing it, literally 🔨

Planning is coming on a pace, we cannot wait to open & introduce you to the team.

Website progress is speedy and we will keep you all updated when bookings are open 🚲🚣🌊

From cycle hire and paddlesports to open water swimming and our waterside sauna, we’re working hard to create a fantastic new destination for adventure, wellbeing and family days out & fun !

Where will the trail take you this summer? 🌳🌊

Quiet woodland paths, fresh air, adventure and freedom to explore.
With local trail links, there are miles to explore from Carsington Water.

Carsington Waterside sits at the heart of some of Derbyshire’s finest cycling, with direct access to the Carsington Water Circular Route and easy connections to the Tissington Trail and High Peak Trail, giving riders access to over 35 miles of largely traffic-free cycling.

We’re getting ready to welcome you to Carsington Waterside, with bikes available to hire for all ages and abilities.

Bringing your own ride? Our bike workshop will be open 7 days a week to keep your wheels trail ready 🚲🔧⚙️

Excited for our new project, coming soon!

Exciting news for visitors to Carsington Water!

We’re delighted to announce that Carsington Waterside will be opening at Carsington Water this summer as our new leisure operator 🚲

Following the sad liquidation of our previous operator last year, we’re really pleased to welcome an experienced team with a fantastic track record in outdoor leisure and visitor experiences. You may already know them from successful businesses including Hassop Station Café & Bike Hire.
Initially, visitors will be able to enjoy bike hire, with paddlesports launching later this summer. There may also be even more exciting activities to come in the future 👀

We’re also pleased to share that we are currently in the process of arranging a lease with a new fishery operator, which we expect to be in place by Spring 2027 🎣

We’re looking forward to seeing Carsington Waterside become a great addition to the reservoir and helping even more people enjoy the outdoors at Carsington Water.
