From Horse & Carriage to HGVs 🐎➡️🚛

A little bit of history from one of our Holyhead drivers, Sion, who was making evening tracks along the historic A5 at Llidiart-y-Parc, North Wales.

The A5 stretches around 260 miles from London to Holyhead and was developed by Thomas Telford in the early 1800s to improve the vital route between London and the Irish Sea. Mail and passengers travelled this historic road by horse-drawn coach before continuing across the Irish Sea to Ireland. 📬🇬🇧🇮🇪

Fast forward 200 years and we're still using the same historic route — just a little more horsepower under the bonnet! 😂🚛

Great to see our drivers appreciating a little bit of the history behind the roads they travel every day.

What an amazing weekend at the Irvinestown Truck Run! 🚛🎉 Huge shout out to everyone in the A1 team who made it all possible – from the logistics team to the garage crew, to Katz Country for the fantastic music, Phair Grills for the delicious food, and most of all, our incredible drivers who gave up their precious time to make it all happen. We couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you! 🙌❤️
