From Horse & Carriage to HGVs ๐โก๏ธ๐
A little bit of history from one of our Holyhead drivers, Sion, who was making evening tracks along the historic A5 at Llidiart-y-Parc, North Wales.
The A5 stretches around 260 miles from London to Holyhead and was developed by Thomas Telford in the early 1800s to improve the vital route between London and the Irish Sea. Mail and passengers travelled this historic road by horse-drawn coach before continuing across the Irish Sea to Ireland. ๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ง๐ฎ๐ช
Fast forward 200 years and we're still using the same historic route โ just a little more horsepower under the bonnet! ๐๐
Great to see our drivers appreciating a little bit of the history behind the roads they travel every day.
Thanks for sharing, Sion! ๐
