☀️ I’ve just come back from 10 days away in our caravan.

34°C, the dogs 🐶, plenty of fresh air, good food and time to switch off. For me, that was exactly what I needed.

But that's the thing about travel... my perfect break won't be yours.

🍷 Some people want to wander the pintxos bars of San Sebastián, spending evenings people-watching with a glass of wine.

🌋 Some want to explore volcanic landscapes and crater lakes in the Azores, where every day feels like an adventure.

❄️ Others dream of Iceland, chasing waterfalls, black sand beaches and scenery that doesn't even look real.

There isn't a right way to travel. It's never about simply "going on holiday" – it's about finding the experience that makes you come home feeling you've had exactly what you needed.

A little glimpse into Kevin and Sharon’s latest adventure, and it’s a special one.

I’ve been looking after their travel plans for quite a few years now, so when something like this comes together it feels really personal. They’ve set off to celebrate Sharon’s 65th birthday, starting their trip in beautiful Zanzibar.

They’re currently settling in at the stunning Baraza Resort and Spa Zanzibar, and these are just the first photos they’ve shared with me from the beginning of their journey.

There’s a safari still to come, but I already know this is going to be one of those trips they’ll talk about for years.

I love seeing holidays like this unfold, especially when they’re for such special milestones.

I don’t often share the behind-the-scenes of what happens once my clients are actually away, but this one feels worth talking about.

Last week, a family arrived at Ikos Dassia and weren’t happy with the room they had been allocated. It simply wasn’t what had been booked and expected.

These are the moments where things can either stall… or you keep going.

I followed the usual channels first, as you always should, but when it was clear the situation still wasn’t right for them, I continued escalating and making sure the right people were aware of exactly what was going on.

It took a bit of persistence, but I’m really pleased to say it was resolved properly in the end — and the family were moved into a beautiful three-bedroom beachfront villa.

They even sent me a video afterwards of how happy they were, which says more than I ever could.

Thank you to Ikos Resorts and the team at Ikos Dassia for stepping in and helping to turn things around for them.

This is the part of my job people don’t always see — it’s not just booking the holiday, it’s standing behind it when something isn’t right.

I got married abroad in Rhodes Over 20 years ago ✨

I recently looked back through these photos and it brought back so many memories.

Not the tiny details I once thought mattered… but the feelings, the moments, and the people.

My dad walking me down the aisle.
The moment I married Denny.
Us posing outside Rhodes Town Hall.
A few slightly chaotic moments in between (including nearly falling down the steps!).
And that last photo in the taxi which has always been my favourite — the feeling of everything just beginning.

It wasn’t perfect… but it was real. And that’s what I remember most.

We also had “If You’re Not the One” by Daniel Bedingfield on our wedding DVD, which still takes me straight back to that day whenever I hear it.

Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to arrange numerous destination weddings over the years, and each one has stayed with me for the same reason.

Not because of how everything looked…
but because of how it felt.

The laughter, the emotion, the families coming together, and the memories that people carry with them long after they return home.

That’s what destination weddings are really about for me.

Not just a day in a beautiful place… but a lifetime of memories that begin there.

I’ve been a bit quiet on social media lately… mainly because I’ve actually been busy WORKING 😂👑

But this one felt worth posting.

Travel Counsellors has just received a King’s Award for Enterprise for Innovation 2026.

And honestly? It’s a pretty big deal.

Behind the royal title and shiny crown is a company full of people working incredibly hard behind the scenes for their clients every single day.

The late-night messages.
The airport drama.
The “can you just…” requests.
The making sure people are looked after properly from start to finish.

That’s the bit I’m proud to be part of.

And with only 52 businesses in the UK receiving this Innovation award this year… it makes it feel even more special 👑

Yesterday was one of those days… long, full-on, and completely focused on getting clients where they needed to be ✈️

But today feels different.

A year ago today, I had a stroke.
I was in the hospital, in and out of it, and those first 24 hours are still a bit of a blur.

Fast forward to now… and after a very intense week of reworking trips and navigating the Middle East disruptions, I’m almost there—just one final piece to go.

This job isn’t always easy, and there’s a lot we can’t control.
But I’ll always show up and do everything I can for the people who trust me with their holidays 💛

And honestly, I’m very lucky—my clients really are the best.

Today, I’m just feeling grateful.
Grateful for this week, for my clients… and for being here one year on ✨

Happy Friday… following the lead of Saskia & Sidney and switching off 🐾🥂
