London Stansted Airport serves connections to more European destinations than any other airport in the UK, as well as providing access to the rest of the world through its daily links to Dubai. It is the only major UK airport with spare runway capacity, and last year secured permission to extend its terminal building to support future growth. The airport served 25m passengers in 2023, across 194 destinations.

The European Union’s (EU) Entry/Exit System (EES) is a new digital border system for UK travellers visiting countries in the Schengen area, introduced in October 2025.

If you’re travelling to one of these countries for a short stay using a UK passport, you’ll need to provide your biometric details – such as fingerprints and a photo - when you arrive at the border. This is a quick registration process done as part of your normal border checks.

There’s nothing you need to do before you travel, and there’s no cost to register.

Volunteers' Week at London Stansted Airport ✈️💙👫

Colleagues at London Stansted have given nearly 5️⃣,0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ hours of their time to support local charities and community groups over the past year.

From clearing woodland at Hatfield Forest 🌳 with the National Trust to helping transform outdoor spaces at a neurological centre in Sawbridgeworth, airport staff have been rolling up their sleeves to make a difference in communities close to where they live and work.

May was Mental Health Awareness Month 🧠, and throughout the month we were proud to support colleague wellbeing through a range of activities and initiatives here at London Stansted Airport.

⚽ We hosted a friendly football match, bringing colleagues together through teamwork, connection and a bit of healthy competition.

💬 Our wellbeing stalls gave staff the opportunity to learn more about the support and resources available to them, helping to encourage open conversations around mental health.

🚶 During Mental Health Awareness Week, which is also celebrated in May, members of our Mind Matters Colleague Forum led a wellbeing walk to mark the occasion. These walks occur every single week and are a simple but effective way to support positive mental health and encourage connection.

A big thank you to everyone helped make the month such a positive experience.
