A career at sea can be the beginning of something much bigger. ⚓

Captain Janusz Nasiadka’s more than 30 years with PCL have taken him from sailing as a Master on tankers to newbuilding assignments and, eventually, a career ashore as our Audit and Training Superintendent.

His journey is one example of the different paths a maritime career can take at PCL — building on the experience gained at sea, taking on new challenges and finding new ways to contribute along the way.

Swipe through as Janusz shares the lessons that have stayed with him throughout his career — and his advice for seafarers thinking about what might come next.

Happy 61st National Day, Singapore.

Home is more than where we are based. It’s where our journey began, where generations have built their careers, and where our values continue to guide us.

As we celebrate Singapore’s 61st birthday, we’re proud to continue contributing to the nation’s maritime story—today and for the years ahead.

Wishing everyone a happy National Day. Majulah Singapura!

Most of us go through our days without giving much thought to how things arrive where they need to be.

The food on our tables. The products on our shelves. The energy, materials and machinery that underpin modern life.

Yet behind these journeys are seafarers — working far from home, often beyond the sight of the people their work ultimately serves.

On the Day of the Seafarer, we take a moment to recognise those who keep global trade moving, one voyage at a time.

At the TradeWinds Shipowners’ Forum 2026 during Singapore Maritime Week 2026, our MD & CEO Hor Weng Yew joined industry leaders to discuss whether disruption is a threat or opportunity for shipowners.

The panel discussed how today’s environment could be structurally different after the near term cyclical effects normalise.

As geopolitics, regulation, and trade flows become increasingly intertwined, shipping decisions are no longer purely commercial. Where the industry once relied on observable patterns and reference points, there is much more noise and signals that leaders must face. In this context, competitive advantage comes down to a few fundamentals - optionality in assets, capital discipline, organisational capability, and most importantly, consistency and trust.

Out in support of the maritime community last Saturday at the SMF City Cycle 🚴‍♂️

It’s always encouraging to see the industry come together—beyond our day-to-day roles—to strengthen connections and support the development of future maritime talent.

At PCL, we believe that our people are at the heart of what we do. Moments like these reflect the shared commitment across Maritime Singapore to build a stronger, more connected ecosystem for the years ahead.
