Nicole-US is a returning guest, having previously visited us in March 2025.
This time, she brought her son, Alec, who, like playing football just like our guide Par and even plays the same position—center back.

Nicole really wanted to see Collared Kingfishers, while Alex wanted to see owls. So, we arranged a slightly different program to allow them to see the birds they desired.

Last Saturday, May 30, 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM, Guide Par met another world-class birdwatcher, this time Mr.Peter Kaestner-US. He is the first person in the world to have seen over 10,000 species of birds. Thank God he had a layover at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand. The Bird Conservation Society of Thailand organized a small gathering for him before he flew to India that evening to continue his birdwatching adventures and increase his species count.

At the event, he began sharing his journey into birdwatching, from childhood, near-death experiences, opportunities received, and the friends he made along the way.

Among the top 100 birdwatchers were three other clients Guide Par has served ranking 26 Julien Mazenauer with 7,952 seen (Dec.2007), Lisa & Li Li-US (Jan. 2023) is ranking 74 with 7,062 sightings, and Noah Strycker-US(World Big Year 2015) is ranking 92 with 6,746 sightings.

Koh Klang, Krabi Province, southern of Thailand is the only birdwatching location requires using a motorcycle with a sidecar, zigzagging through natural paths, cutting through an Islamic village to reach the mangrove forest, rice fields, and beaches. Notable bird species during the summer months of March and April include Blue-throated Bee-eater, Mangrove Whistler, Jungle Myna, and more 30 species.

If you come birdwatching in Bangkok during this time, you'll have the chance to see the Fairy Pitta(the one of three Pittas) a very rare migratory bird in Thailand, at Wachirabenchatat Park. This morning (May 2nd), our company, led by professional guide Par, took Mr. Shu Zhang from Shanghai, China, to see it later in the day, after birdwatching and photographing 33 species at Lat Krabang. This bird was still there for Mr. Shu to see.

Fairy Pittas have been sighted since April 23rd, but they started eating worms given to them by Thai photographers on April 24th.

Typically, this species stays for only a few days in BKK before migrating south (following the rainstorms).

Welcome to Thailand, the land where it's easiest to spot Pittas.
These 4 Japanese clients planned to photograph 3 different species of Pittas in Thailand. We had been planning this for a full year. Our company timed their visit to coincide with this period, as the Pittas migrate through Bangkok and land in public parks.
And it was true! All 3 species had just landed to feed on worms that a Thai photographer had lured them with two days before our guests arrived.
Here are the photos they captured this morning in just an 1.50 hrs. !!
Date of Tour : April 24-27, 2026

On The Way Now : When you've gone birdwatching with your group in central and northern Thailand, you shouldn't miss birdwatching in the southern Peninsula as well.

Just like our client Ray from America, who, after finishing his birdwatching trip with Alvaro Adventure Tours from April 8-18, he booked another 10-day tour with Prof. guide Ball and driver Sak.
