ABQ RIDE Each day ABQ RIDE serves over 40,000 passengers - providing over 10 million rides every year. ABQ RIDE is Albuquerque, NM's citywide mass transit provider.

What an incredible show of community support for APS students! 🎒📚

Thanks to the generosity of our community donors and event partners, we collected nearly 150 carloads of school supplies to help local students start the school year ready to learn and succeed.

A huge shout-out to Chase Bank for donating 250 backpacks filled with school supplies!

We’re grateful to our event partner, the UNM Foundation, and amazing community supporters including Hinkle Fun Center, Flix Brewhouse, KUNM, and the City of Albuquerque for helping make this event possible. Our partners are united in connecting community to resources needed for success, whether it's education, transportation, enrichment, or school supplies!

Let's support local students by stuffing a bus!

Come support our back-to-school supply drive where you can roll in with much-needed school supplies for APS students and roll out with free mini golf and movie passes. Last year, thanks to community supporters, we successfully filled up a city van with supplies... This year, we hope to fill an entire 40-foot bus from floor-to-ceiling, front-to-back with school supplies.

As Summer Leaves, Route 790 Returns.

Route 790 will hit the road once again on Monday, August 17, after a summer hiatus as an important connection from the Westside to the University area and major destinations in Old Town and downtown.

Route 790 will run hourly on weekdays from about 6 a.m.-7 p.m., starting at the Northwest Transit Center near Cottonwood Mall and going south on Coors, east on I-40, south on Rio Grande, east on Lomas through downtown, and south on University to UNM and CNM.

Why does cleanliness matter on public transit?

There’s a concept called the "Broken Window Theory" stating that when spaces are well maintained and cared for, people feel safer and crime is less likely to occur. At ABQ RIDE, we believe a clean system is a safe system. That’s why cleanliness and safety are part of our mission.

Recent improvements include:
• 🧹 Repainting and repairing bus shelters.
• 🪧 New and updated signage.
• 🚌 New bus wash.
• 🏢 New flooring at ART stations.
• 🌳 Beautification at transit facilities.
• 🧼 Expanded bus stop maintenance.

You can help too. If you see an issue, report it and help us keep Albuquerque’s transit system clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone.

ABQ RIDE’s Transit Overhaul Gets National Notice.

ABQ RIDE’s innovative transit network redesign was recognized at an American Public Transportation Association (APTA) workshop in St. Louis, Missouri, this week.

Principal Planner, Andrew de Garmo presented alongside Michelle Poyourow, the lead consultant for ABQ RIDE from Jarrett Walker + Associates, the world-renowned consultants who helped with ABQ RIDE Forward.

“It’s a nice moment to have our system commended on a national stage,” said ABQ RIDE Director Leslie Keener. “By listening to riders and responding to what they want to see in public transit, we’ve built a service that’s making a difference here at home and inspiring transit leaders everywhere.”

Thanks to ABQ RIDE’s team for bringing our route network to life, APTA for hosting a fantastic conference, Metro for welcoming us to learn from your transit system, and Jarrett Walker + Associations for your consultation on this project with support from Toole Design Group.

Hop aboard the Park & Ride to State of the City.

Mayor Keller’s State of the City is this Saturday, August 15 at 4:30 pm at the Route 66 Visitor Center. Admission is free and all are welcome!

Free Park & Ride Info:
- Park at the Central & Unser Transit Center (7907 Central NW).
- Hop on with the family between 4 pm and 7:30 pm to arrive at the event.
- Shuttle will run until the last person returns safely to their car.

This year’s SOTC features local brews, food, live music and performances. Stop by ABQ RIDE’s booth for educational materials about the transit system and ‘Meet the Fleet’ of vehicles that keep our city running.
