Some days are rough. For everyone.

Deputies, Investigators, EMS, VFD and Coroner responded to a missing 2yr old call at Talucah Landing in Valehermoso Springs. The child was located in the water. CPR and life-saving measures were performed but the child passed away at Women's and Children's Hospital in Huntsville.

Please pray for the family and the first responders that were involved.

This is near and dear to some of our people! Hygiene products are critical for women, but some of the least donated items.

If you would like to collect donations at your business, church, etc. We will come pick them up! Otherwise, you can drop them off in our lobby.

Please have donations in or ready by May 20th so we can get them to TVO!!

[UPDATE] Freeman is back in custody.

An inmate has fled on foot from Decatur Morgan Hospital. Deputies and Decatur PD are actively searching for the subject in the area around the Hospital.

The subject Tyler James Freeman, 27 was last seen wearing a black and white striped jumpsuit but may have removed that.

He is 5'5, brown receding hair, brown eyes. He was currently in jail on 3 warrants for:
▪️15-22-54 - Obstruction-PV - Probation Violation - Criminal Mischief
▪️15-22-54 - Obstruction-PV - Probation Violation Receiving Stolen Property
▪️15-22-54 - Obstruction-PV - Probation Violation -Theft of Property/Escape

Oh, our hearts! 💙💙💛

Captain Lyon had the privilege of es**rting Ms. Emma Gayle Landrum for her prom lead out this past weekend in honor of her late father, retired Decatur Police Officer Mike Landrum.

After Emma's mother reached out looking for an es**rt for her daughter, Lyon was happy to step in to support the family and play a small part in making her evening special. We hope Emma had the best time!

We’ve got one last post to wrap things up for NPSTW 2026, and we saved a fun one for the end. Last week, our center voted on a few awards, and the results did not disappoint.
