Connected commutes can only happen when communities are connected. 🗺️

Historically, downtown areas were bulldozed to make way for the interstate highway system (thanks, Robert Moses 😒). This helped newly-formed suburbanites get to and from work in cities without needing to navigate the downtown area.

Long-story short: Communities got dissected.

Norfolk is studying ways to fix that. Phase 1 of the Reconnecting Communities study is wrapping up, but commuters and residents in the Downtown Norfolk area can provide feedback on ways Downtown Norfolk could connect with Harbor Park and Norfolk State University. 🚴
