The California State Auditor completed its examination of six East Bay bus transit agencies, including AC Transit, with the report showing they are succeeding in coordinating to put the customer first.

The audit’s findings included:
- Transit coordination across the East Bay is already strong.
- MTC regional integration initiatives continue to lag behind schedule.
- Five of the six transit agencies face serious fiscal risks.
- Zero emission bus mandates present major financial hurdles.
- Transit agency consolidation is unlikely to solve financial problems.

AC Transit leadership made their way to the American Public Transportation Association Mobility Conference and the Workforce Summit Program where our team learned and shared information with subject experts from across the country.

Staff participated in workshops and panel discussions focused on innovation in transit, FIFA World Cup preparedness, Bus Rapid Transit operations, and IT application development. Discussions also covered changing demographics and energy management strategies that support more sustainable public transit.

AC Transit continues to lead as we presented on AI governance and strategic planning at the Workforce Summit Program.
