“Play for Japan USA” Project
Organizing benefit events to raise money and awareness for Japan disaster relief effort
On March 11, 2011, the strongest earthquake on record in Japan measuring 9.0 in magnitude struck the Tohoku region in the northeastern Japan, and combined with the subsequent tsunami, caused massive destruction. The death toll is still rising and over 170,000 people have been displ
aced, forced to live in shelters with very scarce supplies such as water, food, and basic necessities. The "Play for Japan USA" project was born out of our sincere wish to help those people in the devastated areas as well as all those in Japan that have been immediately impacted by this tragedy. Though we are far away from Japan, there are many of us who are praying for Japan and a timely recovery from this disaster. It is our wish to give support through music and show that we care by aiding in the relief effort. With the "Play for Japan USA" project, benefit concerts will be held in the San Francisco Bay Area with all proceeds donated to the American Red Cross, Give2Asia and the Japan Center for International Exchange for direct distribution to the affected areas in Japan. As an opening event, a benefit concert will be held on April 29, 2011 (Friday) at the Woodside High School Performing Arts Center with virtuoso Anne Akiko Meyers, one of the world's premiere concert violinists, who graciously supports our mission. If you are a musician, concert organizer, or a sponsor, please contact us to support the project. Even if you cannot attend any concert but are interested in supporting our mission and activities, there are many ways to get involved. March 31, 2011

「Play for Japan USA」
「Play for Japan USA」
