✈️ Jetstar A321neo Turns Back to Nadi After Mid-Air Alert

Flight JQ-120 from Nadi 🇫🇯 to Sydney 🇦🇺 had a precautionary return after the crew received a low oil quantity indication on one engine while cruising at FL340.

Around 250 nautical miles southwest of Nadi, the pilots began a controlled descent. About 15 minutes later, they requested to return to their departure airport, reporting the indication on the left LEAP engine.

The aircraft briefly leveled at FL320, then descended further to FL280, before making a safe landing on Runway 02 at Nadi, roughly 2.5 hours after departure. ✅
No injuries were reported.

🛠️ The Airbus A321neo (VH-OLQ) remained on the ground for around eight hours, and the onward flight to Sydney was cancelled. As with standard procedure, LEAP engine oil quantity alerts require inspection before further flight.

Purchased in 1910, the Red Barn became Boeing’s first official headquarters—the birthplace of an aviation giant 🛩️

In 1916, Boeing began designing and building aircraft at the former shipyard site, which later expanded into what was known as Plant I. The facility, including the iconic Red Barn, remained in operation until the mid-1960s.

Delta Air Lines has confirmed October 23, 2026 as the launch date for its first-ever nonstop service to Saudi Arabia, connecting Atlanta (ATL) directly with Riyadh (RUH) on the Airbus A350-900 🇺🇸🇸🇦

The route links Delta’s largest hub at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport with King Khalid International Airport, marking a major expansion of the airline’s Middle East footprint.

Frontier Airlines is expanding its Midwest footprint with a new nonstop route between Milwaukee (MKE) and Atlanta (ATL), launching on December 19 🇺🇸

The twice-weekly service links Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport directly with Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport, offering travelers a low-cost gateway into one of the busiest hubs in the world 🌍

Heavy rain 🌧️. A wet runway. A tense final approach into Kingston.

American Airlines Flight 331, a Boeing 737-800 arriving from Miami (originating in Washington, D.C.), touched down long on Runway 12 at Norman Manley International Airport. With a tailwind and reduced braking on the wet surface, the aircraft couldn’t stop in time.

The jet overran the runway, broke through the airport perimeter, crossed a road 🚧, and came to rest on the beach near the water 🌊, breaking apart as it stopped.

🙏 All 154 people on board survived, but 85 were injured, including 14 seriously, as passengers and crew evacuated in severe weather conditions.

Investigators later highlighted the long touchdown and the decision to land in heavy rain with a tailwind as key factors.
The lasting lesson remains critical today ⚠️: runway overruns can turn a routine landing into chaos within seconds, which is why global aviation continues to push for stronger runway safety areas and end-of-runway protections.
