Carrybridge Boat Company Our Company offers a full range of maintenance services for Erne based motor cruisers. Servicing, Repairs, Upgrades, Maintenance and Recovery.

Our base at Carrybridge is situated midway between Upper and Lower Lough Erne, in sheltered river waters. We are a family owned and operated company available to our clients all day every day during the cruising season, and with over 40 years of experience behind us, we confidently assure our customers of a 1st class personal service at all times.

Haines 31 we had in for service earlier this season presented fuel filters that pointed to serious tank contamination, a very common issue now on most 20 year old plus boats.
This boat was just one serious boat wash or one encounter with choppy conditions and it would be dead in the water.
These boats are not generally fitted with any tank inspection facility.
With so called "fuel polishing" completely ineffective, there is only one proper remedy.
Remove whatever is over the tank and cut into all compartments, get in with a scraper/scrubbing brush/solvent and leave it shiny and new again.
Finish the job by fabricating and fitting inspection hatches to each opening.

Haines 31 aft cabin sent to us for full engine & transmission service.
The Perkins M90 engine was found to be running far below correct operating temperature and barely able to warm the domestic water calorifier above lukewarm.
The cause was identified and remedied enabling the engine to operate at the proper temperature of 82 degrees centigrade. the domestic water will now be properly hot and so much faster warming as well.
Cold running on a diesel engine causes premature wear, noise and reduced power.
