Wow, this bat walk in Twickenham along the river looks great.

Would there be interest in this in Rushmoor?

Do you know of any bat colonies in our area?

There are still a few places left on our free family friendly bat walk - coming up next Wednesday evening (9th September). Check out the link in the comments to book

We have something to ask!

Friends of North Camp is a volunteer-led group, aiming to make Rushmoor rail commutes and daily life a little brighter.

If you have a little spare time in your week, anything from 10 minutes to water a few plants ๐ŸŒฆ to a couple of hours to plant some new fresh herbs ๐ŸŒฑ we would love to hear from you.

Join our small team and help achieve our goal of a ๐ŸŒผ bloomingly beautiful ๐ŸŒธ station. No time commitment, just community!

You can message us on facebook or speak to staff at the station and ask to be put in contact.

We also have our exciting Lynchford Road mural in the works, more updates on this soon!

That feeling when you've left in good time for the airport but there's suddenly traffic. There's no stress quite like it.

Did you know our train line goes direct between Reading and Gatwick Airport, with many services also stopping at North Camp and Ash stations?

We are fortunate to have plenty of beautiful landscapes on route as well, with lots to explore. You can sit back and relax and enjoy the scenery, which is perhaps something not often said about the M25!

A little bit of positivity and a moment of appreciation for our council ๐Ÿ‘ It is the little things that make a big difference to us as a small community.

One of our volunteers spotted the drains by the underpass were full.. of leaves! ๐Ÿ‚ Drainage might not be on the front of our minds in this heat, but when the inevitable British wet weather comes, this blocked drain would have been likely to flood the path.

A big thank you to Surrey County Council for their quick response in clearing the blockage. It only took them a short time, but it shows real care for our station that it was dealt with before it became a big problem.

Small reports, big impact! ๐Ÿ“ฃ๐Ÿ“ข

This proves that reporting issues really works. If you notice any small problems around the station (e.g. a blocked drain, a broken light, or a loose paving slab) please take a moment to log it:
- The FixMyStreet app is quick and easy to use on your phone to report issues https://www.fixmystreet.com/
- you can also report directly via Surrey County Council's website https://tellus.surreycc.gov.uk/

We want to see our local routes looked after as much as you! Keep letting us know what you see so we can make that happen.

๐ŸŒฟ Keeping North Camp Station blooming through the heat ๐ŸŒฟ

It's a little toasty outside at the moment, and our station planters are feeling the heat too!

Over the past few weeks, Sarah and Frances have been visiting North Camp station almost every other day to water the plants and top up the water butt. With limited water access, itโ€™s been a labour of love to keep things looking good for everyone using the station.

The heat has also given us a chance to see which plants are coping best. Sun-loving plants like feverfew are doing great. Weโ€™re adapting to the weather and will soon be adding some more heat-tolerant varieties, with plenty of herbs in the mix.

One real success has been our Bee Friendly planters, which are looking fantastic! ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒผ As you can see in the first photo, theyโ€™re thriving alongside the wild buddleia.

A big thank you to Sarah and Frances for keeping everything going through this hot, dry spell. Photos 2-7 are the before's and after's of their hard work.

We hope passengers are enjoying a little bit of colour on their journeys. ๐Ÿ’š

It was a fond farewell for Clive from the ticket office, who retired in style on Friday with a fantastic send-off from many of his colleagues, past and present. There were some heartfelt words from Andy Gallaugher, along with parting gifts from the station โ€“ and an impressive GWR cake!

Clive will be greatly missed by station staff, passengers, and the Friends of North Camp community group. We wish him all the very best for a happy and well-deserved retirement.

The ticket office will be closed until further notice, but we hope it will reopen again soon.

Thank you for everything, Clive!

If you go down to the river today, you wont find.. a road sign, a grit bin and some traffic cones!

A big shout out to the BVCP Rangers (Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership) who have tirelessly cleared the rubbish from the Blackwater river at the point that it goes through the underpass (which will be getting a new look very soon!).

The plant life has been left intact to encourage biodiversity growth, but the items removed belong in a different habitat! Lets keep the green spaces green and the litter where it belongs.

BVCP are the sister organisation of Blackwater Valley Countryside Trust, both of which we are proud to support.
