The Northampton & Lamport Railway is based at Pitsford and Brampton station, near the villages of Pitsford and Chapel Brampton, roughly 5 miles (8.0 km) north of Northampton.

We've had a brilliant first day at our 30th Anniversary Gala, with local dignataries giving speeches, 3193 breaking the banner and many happy faces around the Railway 🥰🥳

Join us for a great day out on Sunday or Monday, where there's something for everyone to enjoy. From steam/diesel trains to b**r and street food stalls, model railways to a bouncy castle and vintage bus rides to craft stalls.

Doors open at 9:30am, first train at 10am and last trains at 3pm.

We can't wait to see you!😊

Our 30th Anniversary Gala begins TODAY and runs for the next 3 DAYS!

There's SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE this weekend, with:
🚂An intensive timetable of steam and heritage diesel-hauled passenger trains and demonstration freight trains.
🎶Live music
🍻 Pop-up b**r stall
🍗 Street food stalls
🚌 Vintage bus rides

Come and join us at Pitsford & Brampton Station, Pitsford Road, Chapel Brampton, NN6 8BA.

Doors open at 9:30am. Trains run every hour from 11am-4pm (10am-3pm Sun and Mon).

☔Huge marquee filled with stalls, etc. in case of any showers.

Free on-site parking.

Full sized train ride, 5" miniature train ride, circular heritage bus rides, signal box tours and bouncy castle use INCLUDED in event entry ticket price!

In addition to being the 30th Anniversary of our Railway opening to the public, this month also marks 45 years since the very last public train ran along the length of the Northampton to Market Harborough line (15th Aug 1981). The line officially closed the following day.

The final train was a special charter by the Welland Valley Railway Revival Group, travelling from Northampton to Market Harborough and back.

In the photo we see see the last train heading south approaching Spratton crossing and signal box. The parked cars are from people coming out to witness the event.

Members of the Northampton and Lamport Railway are working to restore some of the old line and have already commenced our northern extension towards Spratton, where we intend to construct a new station just to the left of the image shown.

Preparations are ramping up for our 30th Anniversary Gala, which starts TOMORROW!

You may have noticed the weather is forecast to be a little 'changeable' at times, particularly on Saturday. However, our huge event marquee will be filled with stalls, model railways and other things, providing the perfect place to browse and relax as you dodge any showers ☔😊

As part of the Gala we're offering FREE signal box tours at BOUGHTON each day.

These will occur at 11:40, 12:40, 13:40 and 14:40 and last approximately 10-15 mins. Attendees should gather at the north end of the platform and will be escorted in small groups up to the box.

Please note that tour participants will need to be able to negotiate uneven paths and steps. Under 16s will need to be accompanied by an adult. The signal box will be in operation and so it will be possible to see the signalman working in real time.

📣 ALSO, please note that your event entry ticket includes FREE rides on our 5" miniature railway and use of the bouncy castle! 😍
