Hi, I’m Joy! I’m a wife, a mom to four amazing kids, and the heart behind The Mahjong Parlor Co.
My husband and kids are my whole world, and being a mom has been one of the greatest joys of my life. But somewhere between raising kids, taking care of everyone else, and the busyness of everyday life, I realized how easy it is to forget to make time for yourself. As much as I love being a wife and mom, I also love having something that’s just for me. Something that brings me joy, laughter, and friendships outside of my everyday routine.
That’s where my love for mahjong comes in. What started as a fun game quickly became something so much more. I fell in love with the time spent around the table, the conversations, the laughter, and most importantly, the friendships. I’ve realized that making friends as an adult can be surprisingly hard. We all get so caught up in our own lives that sometimes we forget how much we need connection.
I wanted to create a place where women and men of all ages and walks of life could walk through the doors, feel comfortable, and leave feeling like they’ve found their people. Opening The Mahjong Parlor Co. is truly a dream of mine. It’s about so much more than teaching people how to play a game. It’s about building a community, bringing people together, and giving everyone a little something to look forward to.
My hope is that you come in for the mahjong but keep coming back for the friendships. Whether you come with your best friends or walk in not knowing a single person, I want you to feel like you belong. I can’t wait to meet you, share a few laughs, and hopefully make some lifelong friendships along the way.
