We've mapped out some dog-friendly restaurants, neighborhood bars, and other patios across Milwaukee County to help you find your next stop. All you have to do is plan your trip in the MCTS Trip Planner or Umo app and enjoy the ride together with your favorite furry companion.

Reminder: For everyone's safety and comfort, pets are welcome on MCTS only if they're in a secure carrier. Service animals are always welcome.

On route 15, MCTS Operator David D. noticed a car stranded on the street. Instead of passing by, David jumped into action to push the car into the nearby gas station. David's willingness to go above and beyond to help a driver in need also meant that the street stayed safe for other drivers.

Yesterday, we joined the Urban Economic Development Association of Wisconsin (UEDA) for Emerging Topics: Public Transportation Matters for an important conversation about the economic impact of public transportation and how everyone can get involved in improving transit.

Highlights from the event included a presentation of the SEWRPC Transit Benefits study, with the full report available this fall and the launch of the 2027 bus network redesign.

Yesterday, we celebrated 13 graduates of Wisconsin’s inaugural Coach/Bus Operator Registered Apprenticeship Program, along with the 8 mentors who helped guide them through their 14-month journey. 🎓🚌

Apprentices earned while they learned, gaining valuable skills and experience under the guidance of experienced MCTS operators. Their work will help keep our community connected to jobs, school, health care and the people who matter most.

This program is also building the future of MCTS. Moving forward, every MCTS bus operator recruit will begin as an apprentice.

We’re grateful to Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, for funding this program in part through a Wisconsin Forward grant. Thank you also to our partners: Amalgamated Transit Union, mentors, instructors and families who helped make this milestone possible. A special thank you to our speakers Joe Lamers, Steve Fuentes, Pamela Moore, Chuck Olsen, Ruben Salas, and Brian DeNeve for helping us celebrate this important achievement.
